The Telecom Italia Future Centre mission is to identify new opportunities of business for telecommunications in a broad-scale view, thus including whoever and whatever is making use of telecommunications, their products and services, using or enabled by telecommunications.
Research focuses on how telecommunications can cause a change in current ecosystems, potentially exploiting new business models.
The various parties cooperating in the study become Partners of the Future Centre, and bring in their specific focus, determined by their positioning in the market, and geographical location.
The Future Centre is an open lab, located in the heart of Venice, an ideal setting for a think tank on the future, open to all parties sharing the objective and dream of enhancing the value of connectivity and its exploitation in the economic environment.
Walking the talk of the Open Innovation philosophy, the Future Centre team consists of researchers from both Telecom Italia and various Companies and students coming from all over the world bringing in different skills. We are deeply convinced that different culture, different habits and different skills enable different ways to look at the world with new eyes and foster the divergent thinking and disruptive innovations.
There are continuously open opportunities for students (graduated and graduating) for internships whose duration spans from 6 to 12 months.
The internship is open to young people with technical and economic background. In both cases, complementary interests are appreciated: economic interest in technical people, or technical interest in people with economic background.
The candidate should also have a capacity and desire to work in teams, relational capacity and, last but not list, the capacity to adapt quickly to a very dynamic context continuously evolving.
The multicultural environment makes fluent English language spoken/written a given.
The Future Centre projects usually last a year and are focussed on vertical business sectors. The continuous interaction with other players leads to a deep understanding of the ecosystem and to the identification of potential business opportunities as result of new service concepts and business models leveraging on technology evolution. After one year, if there concrete business opportunity surface, the project moves to the second stage that consists in a field trial.
Each intern is assigned to a single project, but will be abreast of all activities going on in the other projects. Weekly plenary meetings and brainstorms involve all the Future Centre people thus enabling a continuous exchange of information and competences among the projects.
A tutor will be at hand through all the internship period; at the end the student will get a certificate on the activities carried out and the achieved results.

The interns will be provided of a work station with PC and connectivity at the Future Centre.
