ETSI TC EE Environment Engineering plenary meeting

The European standardisation concerning the environment is continuously evolving.

One of the most important is ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) whose tasks concern the development and issue of standards for telecommunications, represented by Industries, Operators, and Administrations.

The EE Technical Group (Environment Engineering) carries out studies on general aspects involving all telecommunications equipment and devices, namely electric supply characteristics, environmental conditions, system supervision, alternative energy, consumption reduction.
The EE Group, which has been working for years on such issues, has decided to focus its projects on those subjects and to write standards on energy saving, relating in particular to equipment and devices for broad band access (ADSL/VDSL) and for radio bases of radio-mobile systems.

The next meeting ( to be held at the Telecom Italia Future Centre from 20-24 September) is devoted to energy saving, in particular with the purpose of providing a significant contribution to on recent on-going debates on this issue. The Event will be attended by delegates from various European countries, from China and Japan.
